چکیده

Heart failure remains a critical target to improve the health of the US population. It is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States.1 Heart failure is a result of acute or chronic injury followed by healing and remodeling that are insufficient to maintain or restore function. Myocardial infarction (MI) is the major cause of heart dysfunction, but other more chronic injuries, such as those caused by hypertension or genetic defects have many similarities.

Interactive effects of reducing exercise intensity and Adiantum capillus veneris extract on remodeling and modulation of pulmonary apoptotic indices in the rats exposed to the hypoxia.

Background and Aim: Apoptosis is a type of programmed cell death occurring by a series of intercellular messages which is associated with tissue structure remodeling. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the interactive effects of reducing exercise intensity and Adiantum capillus veneris extract on remodeling and modulation of pulmonary apoptotic indices of the rats exposed to th...

The Effect of Cardiac Rehabilitation on Left Ventricular Remodeling in Men and Women Patients with Coronary Artery Disease

Objective: Left ventricular (LV) remodeling is associated with increased morbidity and mortality therefore, interventions that halt or reverse ventricular remodeling are expected to prevent these clinical outcomes. The aim of the study was to assess the effects of cardiac rehabilitation program on cardiac remodeling process in patients with coronary artery disease and then compare the results b...

Allogeneic Red Blood Cell Transfusion Following the Total Hip Arthroplasty Triggers the Immunomodulatory Responses

Background and Aims: Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a common orthopedic surgery. The main focus in the research of THA is immune responses in these patients following the blood transfusion. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated the immune modulation indexes such as T cell amplification, Tcell surface markers and also production of cytokines in the patients undergoing THA surgery following bloo...

Assessment of cardiac inflammation and remodeling during the development of streptozotocin-induced diabetic cardiomyopathy in vivo: a time course analysis.

In this study, we examined cardiac inflammation, fibrosis and left ventricular (LV) function during the development of streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic cardiomyopathy using an animal model of diabetes mellitus (DM). Diabetes was induced in 22 Sprague‑Dawley rats by an intraperitoneal single injection of STZ (70 mg/kg). Non-diabetic animals served as the controls (n=6). LV function was docu...

Immune cell and other noncardiomyocyte regulation of cardiac hypertrophy and remodeling.

C ardiac hypertrophy and remodeling are pathological features of many cardiac diseases, with underlying causes including hypertension, cardiomyopathy, valvular dysfunc-tion, and myocardial infarction. In these diseases, ventricular hypertrophy occurs in response to pathological stimuli such as pressure and volume overload, sarcomere gene mutations, and neurohumoral activation, and a major conse...
